Floral Foam Safety

Floral foam, widely used & valuable tool- but is it safe to use?

Floral Foam, wet or dry, is a commonly used floral design tool. in this course we are only covering Wet Foam.

Since it's introduction in the late 1950's not much information has been disseminated to Professional Florists, Floral Design Instructors/ Students and most certainly not to the end users, the people receiving floral gifts that contain floral foam.

The truth is this product serves a great function in floral design. Two great functions in fact . Flowers need two things:

(1) Support, (2) Hydration. This product provides both and thus allows for designers to create gravity defying floral art, use less stems per arrangement and spend less time designing.

This course is intended to serve as a supplement to your floral design education or interest in general.

For The Pros:

If it's not "safe" then why haven't I heard about it?

"Safe" is a relative term when it come to chemicals- they are, in fact, everywhere. We take the position that floral design tools are not "safe" if they are chemically altered, they are most certainly not natural.
